Using one third the power of conventional LCD and plasma TVs, Mitsubishi's new laser technology could be the future of environmentally friendly televisions.
Mitsubishi launches laser-powered TV set MUMBAI: Mitsubishi Digital Electronics has announced that it is launching the world's first, laser-powered television. The company says that LaserVue not only delivers two times the colour of many of today's HDTVs, but it also uses exponentially less power than LCD and plasma TVs. The Mitsubishi LaserVue 65-inch model will be sold for $6999 at select specialty retailers across the US. LaserVue has been introduced as the most energy efficient large-format, high-definition television available on the market today. "With operating power at approximately 135W, LaserVue is environmentally friendly, consuming approximately one-third the power of today's LCD TVs, and one-fourth of plasma TVs." |
